Rising Star:
'Rising Star' is a singing reality show that will begin from 4 February 2017 and can be watched every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM on Colors TV. The Judges of this singing show are Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur, and Diljit Dosanjh. However, the viewers watching this show are also the Judges from their home whose voting is crucial to determine the ranking of contestants.
How to vote for performers on Rising Star:
During each performance stage of the show, the viewers at home can decide whether or not a contestant goes to the next round by using a mobile voting app.Talking about auditions of the show, the acts are not pre-announced, but the names of candidates are called randomly. So only a limited number of the contestants who are waiting get the chance to perform on the show on that particular day. When a participant shows his or her performance by singing a song, viewers are invited to vote for that particular act. Initially, the contestant has to perform behind the screen called 'The Wall.' Registered voters have the choice to vote yes or no. If yes vote is cast by a voter other than the host, another 70% is added to the total of the contestant. The contestants are able to see the random photos of voters in their favor and if the participant score reaches 70% of 'Yes' votes, the wall is raised, and he or she qualifies for the next round of singing competition.
Those contestants who are able to make through the auditions are paired by judges to compete with each other. The contestant who has to sing first is chosen by a toss. He or she sings on screen and sets the target for the second contestant. The second contestant has to sing behind the wall, and if he or she gets more votes than the total of first opponent's votes, the wall rises and the second candidate qualifies to the next round while the while the first contestant is eliminated. If the second participant gets lesser votes than the first contestant, then the second contestant is eliminated, and the first contestant makes to the next round.
